Guthrie Cavanaugh has proof the child Marissa Harrington adopted eight years ago is his, one he never knew existed, given away at birth by his ex-wife for spite. And now, he wants her back by any means necessary.

He’s trying to take her daughter away, threatening to bring Marissa down to accomplish his goal, to destroy her very existence. She fights back, waging war against him, even knowing in the end, she will lose. But she won’t give up her child without a fight. Then when she learns the deceit and treachery surrounding the adoption, it creates a soft spot in her heart.
